"Safe upon the solid rock the ugly houses stand: -Edna St. Vincent Millay How many people do you know who have their own logos? Well, this one is mine. I call it the "feetyang." Pretty cool, huh? |
sandy feet: sand castle wizard
(what i do)
I work real hard at not having a real job. Had a real job once. Hated it. I do a little of this and a little of that but since I am not a greedy person, I don't need to do too much of either to keep the wolves at bay. Was married to another sand sculptor once. Didn't work out, but we are still good friends. Sometimes I hang out with this sandguy - you might have seen our work on Sand Blasters as Team Trowel & Error. But mostly I am a master sand sculptor and that is how I identify myself. I do not claim to be the best sand sculptor in the world. Not even close. But I am good enough at it that I have been invited to show off at some pretty cool places. I am a lucky SoB.
I'm not all totally humble pie, however. I am a damn fine sand sculptor teacher. I reckon I have taught more people how to have more fun on the beach by building better sandcastles than pretty much anyone else in the world. Everyone needs to be good at something, and that is what I am good at. And in Feb. of 2007 I opened up an honest to goodness Sand Castle Academy right here on beautiful South Padre Island where folks can stay in a really sweet place and get hands on sandsculpting instruction. I give lessons. I wrote a few books - this one is the best yet. And I might have a few more in me. I am also pretty good at reproducing corporate logos, etc. in sand - visit beachbillboards.com for more info. A couple years back, I got to hang out in the Bahamas with Regis & Kelly - perhaps you have heard of them? They needed a sand sculptor. Perhaps you need a sand sculptor too? Or perhaps you want to learn how to build better sandcastles? Or how to get invited to the serious contests? Maybe that is how you ended up on this page. Regardless of whether or not you are going to offer me money for one thing or another, I hope you will enjoy noodling around my site. Cause I made it just for you. Really. |
